You can buy the Meadowlark Blue Heron 2s off their website for $6500. That's half price. Once they are broken in I doubt you could do much better.

You should talk to DUP. He thinks Legacy speakers are the greatest. Around here he is in a very small minority.

I never said "They're the greatest".That title goes to Bose!
okay,okay,just joking.Don't start now ! lol
Seriously though,Legacy loudspeakers are very good but they are meant for musilovers, not audiophiles,if you get my point.Another good set of loudspeakers is Vienna Acoustics "Mahler" although more expensive than the price ranger our friend asked for.

I own ESL's. Prior to that it was Magneplaner's. I've owned panels since my first Maggy's in 1976. To my "ears" panels are music lovers speakers.

The new MBL stand mounted speakers.

I'm not sure of the price, it should be in that ballpark.

MBL, if you are listening, send me a pair of your big boys - I'll become a reviewer, if I have to.

Legacy Audio makes the finast speakers available, priced in the real world, for mortals, designed by a speaker whiz engineer. GET IT !!!!

I really wanted to like the Focus 20/20. But I listened to them in Palos Illinois. They were powered by an all Mac system and they sounded very dull. Based on all the comments that I've heard I don't believe the speakers were at fault.

I've owned NHT 3.3's for about 10 years. They produce a very large and powerful sound. They are also a bit bright. If I can't find a full range very dynamic speaker, I may swap out my Audible Illusions preamp for a Cary model. Or, I may swap out the old Theta gear for an Ayre CD player. These changes could soften up the system a bit and still provide the excitement I need.

I'm an old fart at 53, but I still like to shake the dust off of the shelves with the new Prince CD. Oh well, I don't want to grow up to fast.

I have own Vandersteens in the past. I actually sold 2 pairs, 2c's and 1b's. I also own a pair of Shahinian Obelisks many moons ago. As far as Maggies go, I've always wanted a pair, but could you mate them to a fast bombastic sub. Thanks again.

Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate all the input.

Parnlyp,i understand what you want. You want a "sweeter" less "in your face" sound, without loosing the treble extension you are used with. Also, you want a large loudspeaker. My experience, since i am from Cyprus,is mainly with European made speakers and that makes them expensive by the time they cross the Atlantic.I own a pair of ProAc speakers and i do not intent to replace them.If you did not like the Legagy Focus, try to locate a Proac dealer and give a listen to the pair that is closest to your price range.
I am sure you will find what you're looking for there.

p.s. I am almost 48 and don't feel at all like an old fart
In fact,i met a few quys (in THAT other site) half our age which were...well....just farts ! lol
