Hi Amir

I have been VDH user for almost 19 years now and have at home almost all of his products. One of the first cables i bought, was mc-gold which i found on the full-and-bass-heavy
side.Because at the time it wasn't a good match with my equipment,i send it back to the dealer and got an mc-silver. 3-4 years ago, after replacing all of my equipment,i asked for a pair of mc-gold.When i took it home and after considerable burn-in , it was as if listening to a different cable than the old mc-gold i used to know.A few months afterwards,i met A.J.vdh at the importer's house over here in Cyprus and asked about the mc-gold.His reply was "Yes,it sounds differeny, more transparent and analytical because now i mix gold with copper etc etc".
What i am trying to say here,he keeps upgrading his cables without adding a mk2 or whatever to distinguish one generation from the other,so,in a few words, the 2005/6 "revelation" might as well be a completely different sounding cable from the 1993 one.
BTW , i too own "revelations" and i find them exceptional regarding bass. The area where they are a bit "shy" , is the upper bass.

Amir, are these new cables or have you been using them for a long time? The only reason I ask is because many new cables, and especially heavily insulated cables, take a long time to settle.

If they are new, I would give them at least 100 hours of continuous current before giving up on them and 200 hours isn't entirely unusual. I have had new cables in my system that took 100 hours for the bass to show up and a whole lot longer for the focus to define itself.

Bummer. It seems I remember reading where Van Den Hul started using carbon fiber in their cables. At least now you know why Stereophile drops things from their Recommended Components when the manufacturer updates the product line.

I never thought I would read about a Krell owner having too little bass!

Amir, something i forgot to tell you.I also have XLO Signatures speaker cables. On substituting the "revelations" for the "signatures" the ammount of bass remained the same.
What i am trying to say here,is do not expect a cable to give you subwoofer type thundering bass. Also, the lack of bass probably is due to bass-light loudspeakers or even amplifiers. Also, your room plays a difining role in this department.
