Thanks. May all Stereophile's readers have a music-filled 2006. May their fuses never blow, their connections never get dirty, their woofers never distort, and their tweeters never expire.
Happy New Year
John Atkinson
Editor, Stereophile
I don't usually stay up to welcome the New Year, but I'm going to make an exception this year. Dick Clark is supposed to return to the Big Apple this year and is reported to be in failing health and I want to see him welcome another year.
Happy New Year to all.
Happy New Year! I meant to go to a party last night, but, konked out. Oh well.
I know. Was in bed by 10:30pm and the New Year started without me. No big surprise there. I know I feel better than a whole lot of people do this morning. LOL My wife, Diane, said that midnight fireworks were driving the dog and cat crazy. I said, "what fireworks"? This getting old is just not working out. Beats the alternative, though. May audio be better for all of us in 2006 and our careers more prosperous.
It was nice to see Dick Clark back at his post. The effects of the stroke were obvious with his speech and movements, but he did a valiant job. Hope 2006 is better for him.
Now, if they could only do something about that noise (they call it music) at the prerecorded New Years Eve party. Does anybody think Hillary Duff has talent? Or any of those acts for that matter? If the record execs would take time to watch that abomination then they would surely understand why their CDs are not selling anymore! It sent me to bed!
May 2006 bring everyone here good family times, good health and good music.

To celebrate, the band came over to my place. We watched the Giants (Tiki Barber) squeeze out another win. We ate yummy foods. We got drunk on some of that Fernet Branca stuff that Wes told us about. And, we listened to lots and lots of music. Good times.
Any hi-fi system sounds better amidst healthy doses of Moet.
Happy New Year and a happy journey on your path to music and hi-fi nirvana.
