I agree, its a great idea.
could be fun! it could include a personal records to die for section, top 10 choices only or something, even if thats hard. I find other systems sites such as those on audiogon, lacking in that absolute necessity for a hi-fi system. Plus for people like me, it can be a great resource for discovering new music.
I agree. Let's have a photo section.
One of my other hobbies is shortwave radio. A radio forum I subscribe to (radioreference.com) recently added a section to their forums where members can post photos of their "shacks" (radio setup in the home or auto.) It has become one of the most popular forums.
While we all believe in the end that the music is what counts, I think we all would get a real kick out of seeing peoples' audio setups. A great way to get ideas for changing or improving one's own system.

I dunno bout this. I've seen more scary rooms at these "other" forums than I care to remember. I know we all complain and joke about the WAF....but every picture tells a story, and apparently alot of us audiophiles must be single! Somehow the sight of others digs just spoils the abstract image I think we all have of the professionally decorated, professionally treated dedicated listening room we all wish for, and assume our fellow audiophiles have. I know us guys like our gear but even some of these dedicated rooms, with garden hoses elevated on little ceramic whatchamadiggys, puleeze! Nope, I vote for no photos, no members section.

Agreed - I love to read about other people's systems and where they are from, what they like to do, their political interests - no really, great idea!
Pictures add a nice touch IMHO - I love sixmoons for their great picture coverage as well as Stereophile's new blogs for site links - the more, the merrier!
This is a good idea, then we could all lie to each other, and get off on the right foot.
Here here I concur even.
My Stereo System Pictures
So here is my system.
You mean a "what do you have in your system this week " section don't you?
Yes, Rgibran. We don't need no stinkin' photos. Besides, no wife, no WAF. Unfortunately, no need for housecleaning, either. You want "scary room"? I got a couple o' roaches so big I listen with a sand wedge in one hand. I bought Audio Quest wire because its the only flavor they won't eat. Hey, it's the music that counts, right? Happy tunes, Clifton.
Very cool Colin^! Thank for link - those speakers sure look beautiful!
Thankyou very much. They look much better in real life, photography is not my strong point. I opened some drapes, turned on a couple of lights and set the camera to auto and pointed.
They have a lovely transparent sound with the ribbon tweeters.
Coming soon.
Okay, everyone, your wish has been granted. The new Stereophile Photo Gallery is waiting to be made beautiful. Dress it up with pictures of your audio gear.
You'll find galleries for complete home systems, dealer showrooms, manufacturers' hot products, dorm systems, computer systems, DIY projects, live events, and more.
Have fun, and let us know what you think.
