The simple asnwer to your question , is yes. the sa-1 was and still is a great amp.Don't,even for a moment,believe that newer amplifiers are that much better as manufacturers and reviewers want you to believe.
The SA-1's are excellent amps! One of Nelson Pass' better designs. I have owned a couple of earlier Threshold models and sonics wise they still hold their own with the new stuff. "Vintage" high end IMHO is a best buy now days. Enjoy the amps!!

Congratualtions on getting the SA/1's. I have a pair of SA/2's and I will have them for a long time to come. Great equipment.
