I’ve received two packages in the mail today. Both were from Portland, Oregon, a hotbed for outstanding independent music, and both contained tapes.

Happy Holidays from Ye Olde Hometapes: A cassette tape sampler of some of what was good and right in the world in 2009: Megafaun, All Tiny Creatures, Cyne, Bear in Heaven, and Slaraffenland.

Thanks, Hometapes! I’ve got a feeling that 2010 is going to be a very merry (and very analog) year.

We were cleaning out my parents basement and I found a few cassettes you can have if you want---one is a Ford Motor Company Demo for the JBL soundsytem that came with the 1990 Ford Thunderbird Supercoupe (Motortrend Car of the Year) which includes a fine recording by Barbara Streisand; and the other one is Zamfir, the master of the pan flute. I too am from Portland, Oregon. Our economy is not so good, it's actually pretty bad. Tapes is all we got. Let me know. They are free too.

Stephen! Who come you get all the good stuff for free!!!!!! I made a "resolution" that this year, would be an analog one for "SHURE"! Happy taping to you and to all a good mix!AlohaJ
