To Have & To Hold

I was directed to this video via the Stereophile Twitter page, in a tweet from Bowers & Wilkins, who’d seen it first at Audiophilia. Moments after I’d watched the video, Stereophile contributor Jim Austin also sent me the link.

“Seen this yet?” he asked.

Funny how the internet works.

Anyway, it’s an awesome video, and I can’t wait for the film. Because, really, there are few things in this world as cool as vinyl. The vinyl LP is one of humankind’s greatest achievements and deserves to be celebrated. I’m thinking an opening night party is necessary. We should all get together for some record shopping, followed by beers, followed by record shopping, followed by beers, followed by chicken wings, followed by record shopping, followed by chance encounters with beautiful people, followed by beers, followed by the film, followed by listening to our records on the hi-fi. While drinking beers. And feeling good.

You know what I'm talking about.

To Have & To Hold, directed by Jony Lyle, is currently in production. For more info, visit the Facebook page.

Brothers and sister, cats and kittens, can I get an amen?! Nice video, great message, we came so close to losing it forever. I have been collecting records for most of my life and I still posses and play albums that I bought with paper route earning. These records were brought home on my blue Schwinn StingRay with the matching banana metal flake seat. Getting home to spin those Lps, Eps, and singles on my Mom and Dads all vacuum tube mono Hifi was amazing. Today most of my records are found and purchased off the web unfortunately. God I miss record stores! Collecting has lost some of the adventure and challenge of those early days but still, my next record is as anticipated and enjoyed as those first ones. Long live vinyl and happy listening!

I saw the same video the other day and thought of you (that would like it). Then I saw it again on your blog. Funny how that works.
