Buy Low, Sell High

Used-equipment junkies take note: eBay will bring its popular roving university to New York City for the Home Entertainment 2002 Show (HES 2002), May 30–June 2, 2002. Since its inception, eBay University has instructed thousands of eBay users on the ins and outs of buying and selling on eBay. The special seminar from eBay at HE 2002 will provide specific tips for attendees on buying and selling consumer electronic products.

During the three-day home entertainment extravaganza, eBay will exhibit in booth # 2320 and also host Primedia's consumer electronics charity auction to raise money for the Elf Foundation, which builds entertainment and Internet-based education systems in Children's hospitals. The products offered for charity will be available on eBay starting May 20 and remain posted through June 3, 2002 at www.ebay.com/hes.

eBay will give away prizes each day of the show and at the seminar. The prizes, donated by RCA, include four new RCA 38"-Diagonal HDTVs (model F38310) and a RCA MP3 player. Attendees simply need to stop by the eBay booth or attend the seminar for a chance to win.

Taught by eBay experts, the eBay University seminar will include general eBay training along with information on efficient ways to buy and sell. Sessions will cover the eBay community's trust and safety tips, and ways to find and purchase home theater and consumer electronics equipment using eBay.

The eBay University seminar will be held Saturday, June 1 from 9–10am at HES 2002. The seminar will be held in the Hilton & Towers Hotel, New York, Concourse Level, Room A.

"We're thrilled to be working with Primedia to be a part of the Home Entertainment 2002 Show," said Gary Calega, General Manager of eBay's Consumer Electronics business. "Together, we're giving participants a way to raise money for charity while purchasing some exciting consumer electronics products, and learning in our educational seminar how buy and sell on eBay."
