SACD Deluxe Live

What's a home-entertainment show without an assortment of state-of-the-art audio demonstrations? EgglestonWorks has announced that its next generation Andra II speaker will be featured as part of what it calls an "unprecedented" demonstration of multichannel Super Audio CD (SACD) to be conducted during the upcoming Home Entertainment 2002 Show May 30 through June 2 at the New York Hilton.

The HE 2002 Show, an evolution of the fabled Stereophile Hi-Fi Show, is held each year to highlight the finest music and home-theater equipment available. Given SACD's growth in popularity among music enthusiasts, EgglestonWorks says it believes that "this event offers a unique opportunity to showcase the outstanding sound quality associated with the expanding list of SACD titles."

EgglestonWorks' Jim Thompson explains, "Our goal is to put together a system that truly conveys the emotion of the music. This is a cost-no-object system that convincingly delivers SACD's remarkable resolution." Such systems are common at professional trade events such as the Consumer Electronics Show held each year in Las Vegas, but are rarely available for the general public to evaluate.

In addition to the EgglestonWorks Andra II speakers, the SACD reference system will include a Sony SCD-XA777ES player, Manley Laboratories Neo Classic 250 amplifiers, Transparent Cables, and Grand Prix Audio stands. The SACD demonstrations will be held in Nassau Suite B on an ongoing basis throughout the HE 2002 Show. EgglestonWorks says that the entire system will be "specially calibrated to reproduce all the power and nuance that SACD provides." Sony's David Bent adds that the companies intend to give music enthusiasts "the means to experience multichannel SACD at its very best."
