Re: Worst

Certainly, attack the messenger. It's what you do and why KO has eclipsed Bill-O in ratings. It's what Faux News does and you prefer only to allow information that comes from the broadcast arm of "The Party" to be acceptable.

You've played this same card so often you must be pulling them from your sleeve at this point. As dishonest as your "news" source for sure.

Tell you what, why not refute the message rather than attack the messenger? That would be both unique for you and impossible.

What in that clip is factually incorrect? Did Limbaugh not say what was quoted? Did Beck not say what was quoted? I heard Limbaugh and he did say exactly what was recorded after the CNN piece suggested he is a mental bully who attracts those who would rather be associated with the bully than stand against the injustice.

Tell us about Beck and why he's not the "Lonesome Rhodes" of the modern conservative ideology and why he's not "nuts". The man is a scam artist coming from drive time radio where stirring up the masses gets you a larger share. He comes from a family with mental health issues which would certainly lead to higher chances of his mental instability.

And he calls himself as "entertainer" as does Limbaugh.

Say what?! An "entertainer"?!!! You get your "news" from an "entertainer"?????

I bet you looked to Jack Benny for financial advice.

Re: Worst

I was not attacking the messenger, I was noting his absolute lack of impact...Honestly, his numbers are so low that a lot of big city local radio personalities have a bigger audience.

The left pretends FOX does not matter and can be ignored but they proudly trumpet the efforts by their folk on a network no one watches...

O'Reilly and Beck both have more viewers on a slow day than Olberwho does ever...simple fact. They are saying things folk want to hear while OlberWho is simply ignored. Ask 90% of the public who OlberWho is and you will get blank stares...Now ask the same Question about Limbaugh or O'Reilly.

Besides, which is worse, to call oneself an entertainer and to actually entertain or to call oneself a journalist and be believed by about no one?

McDonald's must be regarded by you as a culinary Mecca!

Fox...ewwww.

Hey, amigo, you got up in arms about your closeted gay senator up there, how do you feel about O'Reilly's sexcapades and sexual harrassment? Is it OK becuse he was only an adultering hetero devout Catholic?

Here's great nugget from Bill...

"So anyway I'd be rubbing your big boobs and getting your nipples really hard, kinda' kissing your neck from behind...and then I would take the other hand with the falafel thing and I'd just put it on your p***y but you'd have to do it really light, just kind of a tease business..." quoted from a gosh darned phone message recording provided in the sexual harassment suit filed against him by a Fox News producer, 2004.

On tape! Not even 'alleged!'

JIMV, you don't care 'cause his jizz is your flavor, eh?

Beck. In lieu of Oxycontin addiction, Beck goes for the fermented liquids and opts for crying on camera - not even entertainment, let alone news. Geez, watch daytime soaps for better performances.

JIMV, get some credible 'entertainers' or consider hooking up with an 'entertainment' provider that isn't trying to turn our country into the London Post.

Murdoch's mission doesn't even bother you, which is really creepy.

Three time divorcee, at age 68 he married a 30 year old - he's the Woody Allen of "News Entertainment." None of that matters to you, though?

Closet liberal, too:

Murdoch supported the Leader of the Australian Labor Party, Gough Whitlam, who was elected in 1972 on a social platform that included universal free health care, free education for all Australians to tertiary level, recognition of the People's Republic of China, and public ownership of Australia's oil, gas and mineral resources.

You want a socialist like that in charge of your 'entertainment?'

Lordy.

As long as he sucks your metaphorical dick, you'll allow an 'entertainment' guy who says what you wanna hear to get away with anything.

You put together quite a strawman there...All I claimed was that OlberWho has too tiny an audience to matter much, which is true, and that the folk mentioned were entertainers and do not pretend to be journalists, as does OlberWho, a claim few believe aside from his tiny audience...

Your endorsement of the perv is noted.

Seriously, what on Earth would these guys have to do to lose your fan worship?

Divorce, adultery, drug/alcohol abuse.

Shit, get Pete Doherty to talk conservative values while he shoots up and you'd probably beatify him.

No straw man, JIMV, your endorsement says it all!

Not a one of those accusations would dissuade a single dem from supporting their fellow, and didn't when it involved Clinton.

As for me, I expect political adherence to a specific philosophy. When folk wander from the fold, like Gingrich has of late, then I reconsider support for them. When they make a career of backstabbing their party like the notorious RINO's Snowe and the late and unlamented Specter do, I simply call them what they are, democrats in drag.

Well, of course you were, what else would you call it? We are not quite as dumb as the average Fox viewer and you'll have to work harder to convince us.

Quote:
I was noting his absolute lack of impact...

Nope! Two things, first KO leads among the younger viewers against Fox News which leaves Fox with an older, less sophisticated audience that is quickly dying off. Quite similar in fact to the numbers for the Republican party which is made up of disordinate numbers of older - mostly male, mostly white, mostly angry and/or frightened and mostly in need of being told what to think - viewers who have no clout among the advertisers. I have no problem with you being a fool when you choose to listen to Limbaugh or Bill-O but don't bring your buffoonery to the debate.

Second, how large the audience is for any news organization is not relevant as long as it is not party approved broadcasting. Dispute the stories or you have nothing to say here.

Quote:
The left pretends FOX does not matter and can be ignored ...

Quite the contrary, everyone knows Fox is not to be ignored since it is the broadcast arm of the RNC. The issue is that Fox should be treated as hostile to the truth and employs opinion commentators rather than news journalists. Please, don't get so off base just because Fox told you they were being "smeared" by the left, it's merely more of their lies.

Quote:
Besides, which is worse, to call oneself an entertainer and to actually entertain or to call oneself a journalist and be believed by about no one?

Nothing wrong with calling yourself an entertainer and attracting a large crowd - that was the entire storyline to "A Face in the Crowd" to which GB hews with unfailing accuracy. Why does Beck's audience gorw? Everyone is waiting for that moment when he derails everything and blows the vein in his forehead - like watching a train wreck. It has become a college drinking game.

There is everything wrong with being The Party whore and pretending to be a journalist when you are not. Not that most of the entertainers on Fox or EIB are to blame, they admit they are not journalists and have no interest in hard journalism or actual facts. Limbaugh takes no guests who would disagree with him so he is left to his own sordid, juvenile imagination for three hours per day. It is the level of intelligence within their audience that is at fault here. When you swallow what you are fed without question or thought, you begin to think the person talking is something they are not - Lonesome Rhodes. Any good propagandist knows how to manipulate the public in this arena and Limbaugh has done so for decades. An entertainer is interested in the size of the audience or as Limbaugh states "the cash" income from advertising.

Will Rogers, who I see you quote with every post, did much the same thing except he didn't need to disparage anyone, tell lies about anyone or resort to crude parodies such as "Barack the Magic Negro" or Barney Franks as "The Banking Queen". But Rush-bo knows what level his audience operates at and it is far beneath that of a great American such as Rogers. The 24/7 news cycle as done a wonderful job of dumbing down the audience for the likes of Hannity and Savage.

Quote:

Why not provide some solid proof for that statement? Are we supposed to believe you just because you watch Fox News? That's not how this works.

I am not in the business of trying to convince you (plural) The average FOX viewer would be open to evidence but the average leftie only believes what comes over the DNC fax and their daily sound bites and slogans as seen or heard or read in their approved media...Truth on FOX, a dirty lie. BS on MSNBC, truth regardless of evidenced...no, I do not hope to convince you. I simply present alien ideas not found on the daily DNC Fax for consideration.

Still no proof. More mmmmmaaaaaadddddeeee uuuupppp bbbbbbssssssssss!

If I get this right, to your way of thinking the size of the audience determines who has the facts and who does not? Therefore, Glenn Beck had no facts when he was a failing entertainer on CNN. Limbaugh had no facts when he got booted off TV. Ditto for Savage. Alan Combs had facts when he was on Fox. It took the outstanding news gathering organization of Fox to get facts to Beck.

Rrrriiiiight.

Who told you that? Fix News? College enrollments began to decline only at the end of the disastrous George W. Bush economy which would put a lie to the "better educated" idea. The younger the audience, the more likely they are to have more available resources for information, which would also contradict what Fox News told you.

Quote:
If OlberWho says something on a show no one watches, was it said at all?

Why can't you understand the facts as they exist?

Oh, what am I saying?!

You are a conservative - you don't have facts, just denigrations of others.

Look, here's how it is. What is being presented here is not about what Olberman said. What Olberman said is pure opinion in this case - that Beck is "The Worst Person In the World!". "Worst" is subjective and there are no facts to support the idea of "worst" any more than when dup said Legacy Whispers are perfect speakers that need 5k watts to sound like live music was a fact. Olberman admits this is the "entertainment" portion of his show where he expresses an opinion regarding who is "The Worst Person in the World". No one watching thinks that Glenn Beck was that person yesterday - not after hearing the republicans hypocritically defend gang rape on the taxpayer dole and the business-centric, screw the consumer bankruptcy laws they concocted. Anyone with half a brain - whoops, sorry I didn't mean to include the Fox viewers in this - Countdown viewers would see those actions as some of the worst things anyone could do. "TWPinTW" segment is entertainment. I know you have trouble differentiating facts from entertainment after all these years of conservative talk shows but this is entertainment - mixed with facts which is what makes it more than unusually good. That those being quoted do not see just how utterly ignorant and out of touch with reality they actually are is all part of the "entertainment" value of "WPinTW".

What is not in dispute are the actual quotes that were presented on the segment - as Olberman says "more facts in his one hour each night than an entire week of Faux News." Whether Olberman has more or less viewers is not the issue here - if it were, we would return to the then logical conclusion that Glenn Beck had no facts when he did the exact same show, misspelled many of the same words and cried the exact same crocodile tears on CNN. That would endow Beck with facts only when he came to Faux News which would then make them "The Official Party Line" media outlet.

However, the issue here is the content of the words as quoted by Olberman - words you have yet to prove incorrect. One elected republican official who jokes about killing liberals, one "conservative" drug addicted entertainer who engages in pre-pubescent locker room humor aimed at humiliating a woman and another who simply cannot follow the party line of his employer - the party media outlet.

What ratings Olberman has is of no significance to the facts as they exist. Unlike Fix News, MSNBC does not engage in party propoganda and allows the viewer to come to their own conclusions. What you decide is of value to take from the segment is entirely up to the individual. If this is how you prefer to be seen as a member of the Fox viewership and as a conservative, then that is your decision. If the republican party prefers to hang on to the idea that a corrupt ideology where only 21% now identify themself as republican - a loss of 20% since this summer - can be rebuilt through a fake news organization that is loosing steadfast viewership as fast as the republican party is loosing members, then so be it.

Quote:
The Republican Shrinkage Problem
The new Washington Post/ABC news poll has all sorts of intriguing numbers in it but when you are looking for clues as to where the two parties stand politically there is only one number to remember: 21.

That's the percent of people in the Post/ABC survey who identified themselves as Republicans, down from 25 percent in a late March poll and at the lowest ebb in this poll since the fall of 1983(!).

In that same poll, 35 percent self-identified as Democrats and 38 percent called them Independents.
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/parsing-the-polls/21-percent.html

Of course, those numbers are reported by The Washington Post which you will not like since they are not an accepted Party Line media outlet.

The echo chamber is growing smaller and smaller for the RNC.

Quote:

Who told you we are in a panic? An entertainer? Did you ask for proof? Or did you just nod your head?

The problem the left has with the right is that we do not let you folk define "facts" as they come off the DNC FAX. Your post here is full of bogus 'facts'...lets look at one:

Quote:
21% now identify themself as republican

As evidence you quote the Washington Posts latest poll..what you do not note is that the polls internals oversampled democrats vastly while undercounting republicans.

Here are the numbers that matter...

Net leaned vote...Leans dem 51%...leans Republican 39%

Party affiliation...

Democrat 33% v Republican 20...that does not mean republican affiliation is 20% but that the poll is again skewed by overcounting dems. Obama won by 7%...He has been losing love ever since. Any poll that has more than 7% between the folk leaning is simply bogus...

Here are two better polls:

Rasmussen presidential tracking poll

The Gallup poll on party affiliation

and the Generic party affiliation...

What?

Oh, you didn't make that up?

You just copy/pasted it from the conservative handbook?

I gotcha!

Well, see? I told you that you wouldn't like it since it wasn't the Official Party Line media outlet. Didn't I say that? Huh? Didn't I?

But there's a problem with your conclusion, you have no proof. Where'd you hear this? Which entertainer told you this? Did you ask for proof? Or did you just nod your head?

Or did you just make this up on your own following orders from the RNC? Well, no, you couldn't have done that, Steele runs the RNC and he's not that bright.

(OK, I know Steele isn't in charge and the entertainer runs the show but let's all just play the game, eh?)

So how about some proof for what you claim? 'Cause most of what you claim isn't factual or even true. And that's what this thread is about, what is factual and what is true. And you still haven't even gone near those quotes. And here it is about time for more.

How about this? Here's a good indicator of O's popularity; http://money.cnn.com/data/markets/dow/

10,081! Wasn't it you who just a few months ago told us the Dow average was an indisputable indicator of O's popularity? And now it's gone up over 50% since you said that?

But you were predicting doom and gloom as told to you by some entertainer. Right?

Doesn't seem like we should put much stock in you or your entertainers.

And that's what this thread is about!

Otherwise, I can't believe I'm saying it, but I agree with Buddha. That you would resort to wanting to look at polls when Shrub was already in the mid 40% range on 9/10/01 is quite odd.

Hey! did you hear he's out hawking confidence on the lecture circuit at $19 a ticket? Overpriced if you ask me even for the laugh.

Astounding...I point you to the internals on your poll (fact), I note the size of the Obama win (fact). I produce a poll demonstrating that Obama has lost ground since election, not gained it (fact). I produce another poll indicating party affiliation (fact) and I demonstrate a long history of party identification trends (fact)...all of which prove pretty definitively that the Washington Post Poll both oversampled dems by at least 5 points and under-counted republicans by an equal amount and your response is..."you have no proof"

3 polls, an election result, and further evidence that the Washington Post simply cannot count and you say I have no evidence!

You made a statement of supposed fact. Yet you have no proof for that statement, only obfuscation. I have to believe what I see in the latest poll. We all know polls are the result of who asks and who answers the specific question but you've made an accusation the poll was oversampled. Yet you've provided no proof for your insistence the WP poll was oversampled. If you have proof, show it. If you have no proof, admit it.

All I'm asking is for you to actually provide facts rather than misdirection which is your strong suite.

Obfuscation?? Perhaps we have wandered to far astray...perhaps I was too vague for you. The WaPO poll had a 13% difference between dems and republicans. There is zip evidence introduced that this in any way reflects actual party affiliation. I have produced 4 separate indicators that this is not the case...if it is not the case, then they oversampled dems..

Was my question too complicated for a Fixed News viewer?

I produced the indicator you yourself had said was indisputable. So, I'll see your "evidence" and raise you another 50%.

I'll take your response to mean, "You're right, I'm a dumbshit! I have no proof, I just made it up all on my own self".

Well, at least you didn't claim you got it from an entertainer. Maybe you should try calling in. I understand it's a thrill to say, "Mega-dittos".

Re: Worst

Tonight's list; an elected republican offical is "worst", he wants to use all of God's resources but he gets to pick and choose which resources are God's and which are the Devil's. Tell-the-maid-to-get-up-off-her-fat-ass-and-get-my-drugs boy is getting worse (I know, I know) and I can't figure out who Tucker Carlson is. Is he a repub? A conservative in the vein of Alan Combes was a liberal? Has he finally hit bottom and now shills for Faux News and shines Bill Hemmer's shoes? Anyway, he's caught lying (gasp!) as tonight's "WPinTW" runner up!

Jan,
Have you ever been diagnosed with a personality/social disorder? Is your inability to interact with others limited to the time you spend online, or are you finding that you are having difficulty with people in the "real time zone" as well?

If so, I know that has to be a painful thing.

I have several friends in the same boat..guys i was in Iraq with.they left normal, well adjusted guys...came back socially handicapped, withdrawn, depressed, angry.. I was too, for a spell(before I met my wife and cut alcohol and other substances out of my life) it is a heavy cross to carry. took me several months to get "over it", lord knows I had a lot of things to work through.

I hope you feel better, Jan. I mean that.

Re: Worst

Why do you ask If I've been diagnosed, ncdrawl? You have personal experience with this issue? Are you off your meds right now? You seem unhinged at all times. You have grudges that you just can't let go. It's not healthy for a man of your advanced years and feeble mental state to be in this condition. Not healthy for anyone around you.

Possibly you are suffering from projection of your problems onto others. They can treat that, ncdrawl. Get some help. You are a royal PITA otherwise.

I mean that.

Bullshit!

Just to repeat for you slow witted repubs, "Bullshit!"

Either you have proof, not a game of if not this then that, or you do not have proof of what you stated.

You posted it as fact, now it is up to you to provide the proof required to support such a claim. Is that just so damn difficult for a repub to do? Do you have such a lack of use for proof that you don't know how it works at all?

What you posted was bullshit and will remain bullshit until you provide proof otherwise.

Either you have proof of what you flatly stated as fact or you do not get to say believe my poll but I will ignore yours because I don't like the results of your poll.

More obfuscation isn't going to change the results of the Washington Post poll. More diversion isn't going to alter the fact the republican party is invested with infantile paranoids with no sense of history in their own state or beyond and the party is being abandoned by those in the center and left (that word bothers you, doesn't it?) to the looneytoones who defend those who defend gang rape on the taxpayer payroll; http://forum.stereophile.com/forum/showf...ge=1#Post75854.

You have yet to address the words quoted in this thread.

If you can do so, then go ahead.

If you cannot refute what was quoted, then your diversions are nothing more than rants of, "I am right because I say so."

From where I sit, you got nothin' and you're loosing that fast.

But without proof of your statment beyond a poll that oversampled the looneytoones wingnut fringe, it's all still "Bullshit!"

I don't have to pretend because I don't care about the rightwing pollsters. It's you who has to pretend anything that has to do with the conservative ideology matters at all. The idea anyone else would care is humorous - not worth spending time thinking about, but humorous.

Here's another good one. The second best thing lunatic repubs do, be very, very Stooooo-Pid ...

"Right-wing smear machine falls for fake Obama quote labeled as 'satire'"

Quote:
Right-wing media figures trumpeted a blogger's fake report that in a college thesis -- which the post's author claimed was obtained by Time's Joe Klein -- President Obama attacked the Founders and the Constitution. Lou Dobbs ran with the claim even after Klein had denied the story ...

Quote:
Post includes no evidence. The piece includes no links to primary sources, images of the purported thesis, documentation for the "first ten pages" of the thesis supposedly "given to the general media," or other evidence of any kind.

Post tagged as "satire."

Buried in the tags at the bottom of the post is the tag "satire."

http://mediamatters.org/research/200910230037

and ...

Quote:
So desperate they'll believe anything -- the fake Obama thesis debunked

It really gets to be pretty pathetic sometimes, watching the conservatives grasp at every straw they can in order to attack and discredit a president they don't like.

http://mediamatters.org/blog/200910230018

And clips of The Party Leader...

"Limbaugh says he doesn't care if thesis quotes are fake, "I know Obama thinks it" ...

http://mediamatters.org/limbaughwire/2009/10/23#0025

Facts?! We don'need no stinkin' facts!

Peggy Noonan, please define "rubble"
October 23, 2009 3:32 pm ET by Eric Boehlert

For somebody who still worships Ronald Reagan and is always lecturing Democrats about how they need to project a more sunny view of the world, Noonan this week latches onto a disturbingly dark view of America in 2009:

It's His Rubble Now: And the American people want him to fix it.

You can just feel the disdain seeping through the WSJ headline. And here's the nut graph from her column [emphasis added]:

President Obama, in office a month longer than Bush was when 9/11 hit, now owns his presidency. Does he know it? He too stands on rubble, figuratively speaking

Not exactly...they not only predicted the result but the size of the result. If it was not astute why were they with PEW the only polling groups to get it right?

We are speaking of polls..either they are right or wrong. Ideology has nothing to do with it.

Two only's! repub logic.

End result, McCain and the repubs get an asswhoopin' that will last a decade if not more. Even The Party Leader said so. How much of an asswhoopin' by tenths of a percentage point is irrelevant. An asswhoopin' is still as asswhoopin'.

So the way you explain it, in repub logic, repubs see getting one thing right as setting a trend, eh?

That explains a lot.

Quote:
As evidence you quote the Washington Posts latest poll..what you do not note is that the polls internals oversampled democrats vastly while undercounting republicans.

Here are the numbers that matter...

You really care?

We got beat bad, but a good bit of that beating was republican (conservative) disgust with the candidate we were saddles with. Even with that Caveat, we lost by 7%.

Obama's love peaked in January and has dropped ever since...every poll reflects the same trend, less love for Obama and MUCH less love for Congress...the left looks at this and says..wow, 3 out of 4 folk dislike the republicans, while they forget that 2/3 also dislike the dems.

You have to follow trends...from 2006 till 2008 republicans lost ground while democrats gained. Today democrats are dropping like a rock and republicans are sitting still...

The only question is...how far will the dems fall and how many seats will they lose.

I've always found repubs to be better at making excuses than they are at facing reality.

I would say your powers of prediction - as evidenced by your "Look at the Dow falling under an Obama administration" back in January - are about par for the course ...

Remember my DOW comments please...today it is up for no economic reason at all...I still expect a big fall...all it needs is an excuse.

As to NY 23...I saw a poll a few nights ago that shows Hoffman doubling his numbers in a week with both the Republican and Dem losing points over the same period. If he continues the same, by this time next week, he will be in a 3 way tie and by election day, the favorite...

What you are not grasping is that any problems republicans have is caused by Conservatives calling themselves independents or simply conservatives. The dems are gaining zip from the change. Their numbers are also dropping...

When the elections come, the conservative candidate gets those disaffected republicans and conservatives, not the dems.
