How many of you are having this problem, and how long has it been going on? Please let me know.
Thanks.
It's happening to me too. It's a short wait, though. Only about a minute. Somebody set a timer somewhere...
Since forever. Some websites that do this have a timer/counter to tell you how long you have to wait but not here. It is especially annoying if the reason for the repeated search is a failure of the search engine to return a useful result.
BTW, I understand the need for this delay but it should be a clearly displayed number. Otherwise, I leave and come back a lot later.

It's been happening to me A LOT lately. Before, I only saw the message when I would click the "active topics" link. Now, I see it frequently after simply clicking the back button on my browser, which didn't generally happen before.
Not to steer things off-topic at all, but I feel compelled to mention that, after some frustrating technical difficulties, I determined that Stereophile Digital is a headache, and I have transferred my subscription to print.
Oh, technology; What a double-edged sword you are.
I can only echo what everyone else has said. It has been going on forever and has increased in the last few days to now occuring when I use my browsers back button when just reading posts...I'm not even searching!

Ditto. I always get I search too fast even when I don't.
I just wait a few minutes and try again.
Thanks everyone. This is not a problem I've ever experienced, but I realize I use the forum in a different way than most people, and also have options available to me that others don't. When others are having problems, then, I'm often not aware of it. I apologize for this.
I'm looking into correcting this search problem. I appreciate your patience.
Again, with Jon Iverson's help, we've set the search delay to 10 seconds. (It was previously set at 1 minute.) We'll see how this goes. If we get bombarded by spam, as in the past, we'll reset the delay to a longer period.
