As well as the 4 woofers, the Whisper uses 4 midrange units, a 1" soft-dome tweeter, and a ribbon tweeter, which, unusually, is mounted horizontally. Paul Bolin is working on a Whisper review, scheduled (God willin' and the creek don't rise) in the August issue.

I wonder why on the Whisper the ribbon is horiz, on the Focus it's vertical, and most others. Maybe that can be a StereoPhile "trivia" question,can start a new contest. I wonder, cus' I have no idea. But it WORKS!!!!!!Ribbons have a great sparkle and shimmer for cymbals, bells, tambourines. And thesee are hardly the biggest baddest ribbons I've seen, some massive ones from Raven, etc massive power handling from SLS ribbon setups. Make my tweeter a ribbon please.
