i want to buy some cables that have XLR connections. what i really need is a two foot pair and a three foot pair, but i'd settle for 2 three foot pairs if that's all i can get. i want to get a lot but i don't want to pay a lot. someone suggested "monoprice" cables. they cost like 5 bucks for a three foot pair. just wondered if i could go maybe more middle of the road by spending just a lil more on another manufacturers cable. thanks in advance for any replies.

ALL balanced cables will function perfectly unless they are completely defective. The balanced design insures very low noise, even in lengths up to 100 feet and more.

I make my own from XLR connectors with gold-plated pins and standard AES/EBU cable. very cheap.

The Monoprice Premium series is what I would recommend, as they have gold-plated contacts; Monoprice #4749/4750/4751/4752 etc.

The gold contacts insure that no oxidation will occur in the long term.
