I think my Grand Piano Home is using Dynamic/Cone drivers. Actually I don't really care too much, if the speakers sound good, it is good.

I have owned the Avantgarde Accoustic Duos for about two years. Every day I enjoy their transparency and dynamics.

It is still the best technology today.

I have the B&W Nautilus 805's. These are beautiful speakers that leave nothing out. The only other speakers that sounded this good to me are Martin Logans with the Krell FPB300.

I would like to have an open baffle, dynamic, di-pole speaker at an affordable price!

What about magneplanar! Or do those qualify as ribbon? Pair of Maggie 10.1 and a Vandersteen 2wq sub ... heaven!

i'm into DHT, sound dictate everything, whatever the best sounding spkr that will work with a few watts wins.

I just switched from full-range electrostatics (is there really such a beast?) paired with a sub to dynamic speakers. Although I love the sound of electrostatics, they lack impact in the upper bass.

Love my Martin Logans!!!

Bought Vandersteen 2Ce Signatures last year. Auditioned Magnaplanars and found that the Maggies were too laid back for my taste. However, the Vandys required lots of break-in time to lose edginess on top end. Terrific value for money.

In all areas of technology, any well designed product, in the hands of a knowledgeable user, can perform in ways to attain its designed objects. I have heard both the Wilson Grand Slamm and Martin Logan's Statement(both driven with Mark Levinson electronics). Folks, they all exceeded excellence. Had I been wealthy, they would have been serious contendersfor my dollars. What audiophilia is about is the exercise of a knowledge base and the execution of intelligence, to attain affordable and overachieving components. After owning three generations of Magnepans(2.7QR,3.5R,& now the 3.6R), my choice is clear inspite of the Maggies punk-ass bottom end. Enter two Paradigm Servo 15s with crossover pt. set at 80Hz and a judicious setting of the x30 crossovers' levels(to match my large room's dimensions). Suddenly my tame 3.6Rs became bruising wicked cruisers in the most absolute of terms. With two bridged Classe CA 400 pumping sublime juice to the panels (my friends, the word clarity has a new meaning), and the Paradigm monsters squeezing the last iota of bass information, comrades, the combo is magical. Unless I hit the lottery, this conjugation has found a loving home.

I have the Newform Research R645. Excellent speaker, no review though. Stereophile should start reviewing products available directly from manufacturers. The Internet is here to stay!!!

had this system setup for quite sometime now, and so far I haven't had any problems or issues.

Hey, I make them! But I make them because I like them. JM

I would really like some Electrostatics. I listened to some ML Prodigy this week. They are outside my budget but are wonderful. I have second-hand SL3s on my purchase plans this next year for sure!

I have tried dynamic and ribbon hybrids over the past five years, and have returned to electrostatic. Dramatically improved music enjoyment!

Once you get to hear those mids from an electrostatic it is difficult to go back...
