do aluminum mid-woofer cones cause colorization of sound as i found in only one report? or are they a natural sounding cone? or would sandwich paper cone be better? thanks,john

MANY materials and/or construction can be excellent - or mediocre or bad. Speaker manufacturers are always looking for the best blend of stiffness and light weight and other factors. So you will find, among the best speakers, a full variety of materials and types, including those you and Jackfish mention above.

i just ordered a pair of 2100 dollar speakers with paper cones. they were only 50 dollars more per pair.( than aluminum) they are scan speak mid woofers. i know jackfish will applaud this if he sees this post
