A new receiver. The Kenwood VR-509 is calling to me.

Not hardware but more SACD software. Good news for me that Universal, EMI and Virgin are adopting the format!

After a lengthy round of auditioning, I have decided to replace my Trusted Arcam Alpha 8 with a Linn Ikemi. I expect that this will be my last CD player.

The Hovland HP-1000. Betters my reference by a country mile. Easily the best preamp under five figures. I want this one.

SACD is on the list. But it's too early yet. The industry needs to sort out how many channels it supports and how it will co-exist with DVD-A, as well as software availability and pricing.

If you choose your components carefully, you will not need to buy the componet of the month. My equipment is old but it still sounds fantastic!

A super audio CD or DVD audio player such as the Sony 777. If they could get for competing format thing settled.

The new CM4 by B&W. It's pretty hard to ignore with its stylish good looks and reasonable price. Most importantly, its sound.

The Hovland HP-100 comes to mind right away. Had a chance to hear and audition that piece recently and it does sound as good as it looks. Worth every penny it would seem. The B&W Nautilus 803 has also been keeping my interest but I just can't bring myself to shell out $5000+ for a floorstanding speaker (although extremely beautiful and well crafted) that barely goes below 40Hz. Anybody at Krell listening? The Bryston 14B ST also comes to mind. The tonal balance, speed and slam of this amp is top drawer all the way. It is a reference quality component for sure. Just haven't scraped the cash together yet.

I'm dying to get a new tube preamp for my back-up stereo. I want to make some silver speaker cables, modify my tube amp, plus get a pair of B&W DM-303s. Oh, I almost forgot about the upgrades to my turntable and record cleaner I need to buy due to the fact my neighbor just GAVE me 100+ LPs of 70s rock and pop! It's never going to end!
