I noticed it immediately.
I want the garage.
I was at the Acura site and a Sterophile forum broke out!
(Stolen from the old hockey joke.)
First BMW in the print magazine, then Bose on the website, now Acura as the home page...I can hardly wait for the swimsuit issue!
Noticed and IMMEDIATELY way F***ing annoying! I mean, once is OK, but each and every page transition!? Makes me want to leave- now.
It's a bit much, but if it keeps the forum and magazine going I can live with it.
Advertisers should be seeing us as a good market. I'd welcome more "off topic" ads in the magazine.
Only gripe is that it slows down the download time rather annoyingly. At least its gas pedal doesn't stick.
Off topic adverts are a good sign. This means that the consumer base is judged to be broader.
When advertisers see/feel it as broader, they inject more revenue into the stream. This, will, in effect ~MAKE~ it broader. (long story but the usual suspect bits on human psychology pop up)
Which is good for the rag and good for audio.
So the next time the magazine calls for some of us to inject our income stats and etc in a survey: ..LIE..LIE...LIE. That will help bring in revenue.
It surprised me, too. I understand it's only around for one day.
It's not a great burden.
The Canon banner y'all had got me to buy their product, so off topic ads are cool - they definitely seem aimed at my middle aged male demographic!
I prefer the nekkid women anytime...
What are you guys talking about. It's revenue coming in. Just be glad it isn't General Motors. I kind of like it. Takes me back to the Geocities days.
