I have an RP3 and had a P3-24. Regas are awesome for jazz and good for classical and rock but are not strong with bass heavy music. I can't speak about the Thorens as I personally have not heard it. Not sure if Music Hall is available but they make great all around tables. Would recommend the Ortofon 2M Blue or Clearaudio Concept MM as a cartridge and get the nicest model you can afford.
