I hear fantastic things about those Aurum Cantus. I'm sure you get awesome deals on the gear over there... so lucky! Well, there are plenty of tube amps that can do bass, and do it well, but if you do lean toward bass-heavy music, solid state is a safe call. An intriguing possibility for you might be a hybrid integrated which has tubes in pre and SS in power. Jolida has some hybrid models, I think... jackfish would know better than me... hope he chimes in here. Also look into Vincent's hybrid integrated amp; I know they're built in China... Good luck!

I use Aurum Cantus Music Goddess speakers with ShengYa (ShengYa OEM Vincent Brand) hybrid Pre and Power Amps. The power amps being hybrid have a lot of grunt,(will put out 1000 watts into one Ohm for 200ms)and the Pre Amp uses 3 12A7X tubes. The bass is deep, powerful and highly detailed.
The midrange is lush and highs clear and extended. The soundfield is huge.

The highs with the G2 ribbon tweeters in the aurum cantus's are clear and detailed and the midrange fast enough to keep up, the lower end is tight and extended and maybe slightly over damped.

Thanks for the advice. I actually just sold my Leisure 2 speakers and Shengya hybrid AC10CS integrated amp. From my understanding the amp didn't have the power to push the Music Goddess II.

What model pre/power Shengya amp are you referring to? I do really like a lot of their stuff, great sound and a nice design.

Also, any thoughts on Chinese speaker wire? I've heard Xindak is OK, but just through an article.

Hi,

I Have a ShengYa S10 CD player feeding a SA-T3 Tube Pre Amp. I put in Philips NOS ECC83 Tubes. I have a SP-T300 Hybrid Power Amp feeding the Music Goddess Ribbons and Midrange units. And a SP-333 Hybrid Power Amp feeding the Woofers.

I use Xindak FA Gold connects. They are rich, smooth, and very detailed, particuilarly in the bass and transmit a lot of bass detail. Changing to these from Xindak standard copper interconnects, was like a major hardware upgrade.

I use Xindak FS-3 Speaker Cables to my ribbon/midrange,
I use FS-1 Speaker Cable to my Woofers.

I can only go by what I have seen and heard and Xindak cables are excellent quality, use high quality WBT connecters.

Yes, It certainly works for me,in my second system I also use Aurum Cantus floor standers, the famous classic model AC-782. (2005 special edition model) I run a NAD 541i CDP and a NAD C370 and NAD C270 and a Denon DV-1920. The difference in sound quality is quite astonishing.

It is as though the Aurum Cantus ribbon was a match made in heaven with Tubes. Now it does sound good on the end of the NADs, but on the ShengYa equiptment, it is a magical musical experience.
