I don't think that's the right question. The right question is: Which amp is right for my speakers?
Don't be married to a topology. An amp's job is to drive your speakers and to produce music in an involving and palpable way. Sometimes the way to get there is via an amplifier that happens to be tube and sometimes via an amplifier that happens to be solid state.
AlexO said it perfectly.
I'm only posting to add another voice to his.
Welcome to the site, Sahani Sahani!
Looking forward to talking Hi Fi with you!
I third the statement- "best" is best for your speakers and your ears; your wallet too since tubes as a general rule cost more for similar power etc. Welcome to the forum.
My Vienna Acoustic Beethoven Baby Grands seem to like about 200 watts of SS power to manhandle them. They really sit up and speak when confronted by my Conrad Johnson CA200. OTOH, my AKG K701 headphones seem to love my Woo WA6 single-ended, class A tube amp. It's a match made in heaven. Of course, all the vinyl is running through a Pro-ject Tube Box phono pre-amp.
So, I think that the answer to your question is, "it depends."
