Trying to set up my first turntable - skate weight problem

Hi everyone,

Just got my first turntable - a Project Debut Carbon.  I've never used a turntable before, so set up is all new to me.  I was at the point of putting the anti-skate weight on and the loop at the end of the string came untied.  I am having a heck of time trying to tie a loop at the end, and I'm afraid it won't be the right length.  Is there some trick or way to figure out how long the string needs to be.

Just sitting here waiting to listen to my first vinyl on my new system (Dylan's "Bringing It All Back Home).

Thanks,
Scott

Length

Abe Lincoln said a man's legs should be long enough to reach the ground. As long as the weight can dangle freely from the metal eye hook, the length will be right.
