they think that the peculiar price,20,384.00 will make the product seem more "high end" to the gullible audiophile.
What you need to understand is that the kind of individual who would pay that kind of money for an interconnect isn't thinking rationally, so to infer a rational mindset to him is a fundamental mistake.

the sum of six consecutive primes (53 + 59 + 61 + 67 + 71 + 73).
the order of the hyperoctahedral group for n = 4
the double factorial of 8.
an abundant number.
the third 129-agonal number after 1, 129 and before 766 and 1275.
a Harshad number in bases 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 13, 17, (and 62 other bases).
Computing Edit

Being a low multiple of a power of two, 384 occurs often in the field of computing. For example, the digest length of the secure hash function SHA-384, the screen resolution of Virtual Boy is 384x224, MP3 Audio layer 1 encoding is 384 kibps, in 3G phones the WAN implementation of CDMA is up to 384 kbit/s.

Either that or 20384 is a zip code in Tmbuktu.

Addendum:

The number 16,384 I remember very well since it's a communications related number - a 2 to the n family of number - used in multiplexers, etc. The number 16,384 is a power of 2, specifically 2 to the 14 power. So, bare with me a second, the number 20,384 is simply 2 to the 14 power = 16,384 + 2 to the 2 power = 4 x 10 to the power of 3 = 1000. Coincidence?

For anyone who wonders why people believe that 9/11 was an inside job,or Oswald didn't kill JFK, or the moon landing was staged in a warehouse, consider that there are otherwise intelligent adults who would pay twenty grand for an interconnect and swear that it's worth every penny.

In the case of Kennedy things are far from clear as who do what to whom and why. For example the mob hit man Rosselli was reported to have said he was the one who fired the fatal head shot, you know, the shot that slammed Kennedy's head back, not forward as Oswald's shot from the book depository would have done. Rosselli was reported to have fired the fatal head shot from an open manhole cover located somewhere in front of the car in which Kennedy was riding. Rosselli was found dismembered and floating in an oil drum in the Atlantic some years later.

My thinking is that Oswald was exactly the kind of individual who would have done it. He was a little loser who went to Cuba where he became involved with some mickey mouse communist movement. He came back determined that he was going to be someone important. His girlfriend dumped him,(for obvious reasons),and he had nothing left to lose. If you want to see an excellent movie, find "Parkland" on DVD. One of the best movies I ever saw.

If Oswald was involved, which I actually doubt, he was not alone, although he might have thought he was alone. The overriding evidence that Oswald was not acting alone, assuming he was involved at all, is the firce with which Kennedy's head is blown BACK by the shot to his head, the fatal shot. At that point in time Oswakd was behind the car carrying Kennedy so it doesn't make any sense that Kennedy's head was blown back. As Judge Judyvsez, if it doesn't make sense it's not true. Oswald went to USSR and Maria was actually his wife.

Cheers
