Today was grandparents' day. The kids are down to one remaining, so....
Time for a party!
Nanny got flowers from all the kids and they made all her cards. The rule was "no clutter presents."
Nanny is a spry 82, widowed 10 months and she got her mojo back quickly...thanks to her fine church and how well they helped us with stuff and kept her busy
Which made me think of my granny on my mom's side.
My mom was born in 1915 and had me when she was 44.
Her mom was 38 when she gave birth to my mom. So, 1878 for my damn granny's entry into the world. 132 years from this year to get back to a world before my granny.
Never got to meet her, she and my mom were estranged.
My first kid was born when I was 38. I hope I get to live long enough to see a grandkid. I can't even wrap my mind around it, but I bet it's a great thing.
So, I know we have a few here:
Happy Grandparents day to you guys! And to those who came before ya!
