I have the same basic question -- How practical is it to use a DVD recorder to record and archive audio from an analog source ? I have a large number of 120 min. DATs that I would like to transfer to a more durable medium. Do any DVD recorders have digital audio inputs ? Love to get some good feedback on this before I spend thousands on a music server.
I suspect a music server is more expensive because it is a Linux based box with its own dedicated operating system optimized for storing and retrieving audio.
