I think a very worthwhile upgrade you could do that is inexpensive would be to install a separate AC line dedicated to your audio system. This circuit would help isolate your equipment from the noisy appliances and similar devices that plague the typical residential household. Also, this upgrade would put you in a good position for other power related upgrades down the road such as an AC conditioner and better power cords. The biggest bang for the buck would come from this dedicated circuit though.
If you want tube sound, try something simpler like a tube buffer.

Costs a lot less and has the same effect on the sound

DAMN! This pitiful site STILL cannot handle pictures...is it ever going to work right??
filled with sand or lead shot, or even alternating sand and lead shot, would be a great improvement ($80/pair from Saturday Audio Exchange). The ProJect acrylic platter is also a good upgrade ($129 from musicdirect). I always recommend the Bellari VP130 tube phono preamp, another definite improvement ($170 from Bottom Line Telecommunications). And you can always get a LP Gear Ortofon OM20 replacement stylus ($99 from LP Gear). Good choices for definite incremental improvements.
You could try a decent subwoofer.
