Hey all.
I am going to start upgrading my audio system. I keep a seperate system for the video stuff and want to upgrade just my music system. I have a Kenwood KR A5030 160W receiver and 1 pair of Mach 1 and one pair of Mach 2 speakers. Should I upgrade the receiver or speakers first. Is there any speaker out there that can compete with the big 15" woofers the Mach 1+2s have?
Are you referring to the Realistic (Radio Shack) speakers from the '70's? (I think this is the correct time frame).
Yes, The Mach 2s are slighly newer. I had reconed them over the years and stillsound good. However I want to upgrade my system and wondering if I should start with speakers. I haven't heard any speakers out there that can deliver the bass these can. I guess I could go with a sub, byt would rather a comperable speaker.
There are many speakers that can deliver powerful bass, but good accurate powerful bass costs money. If you relish the type of bass that these speakers put out you probably will be happiest having a subwoofer that you can adjust to taste.
What would you like to improve in the sound of your system? What does it not do as well as you would like?
