Swans M50W or Audioengine 5+ with Audioengine S8 sub?

Hello, First time poster here.

 

Recently my 12 year old Klipsch Promedia 4.1 speakers died.  I was listening to the new Animal Collective album Centipede Hz and the sub blew when the volume was only at 25% and the sub set to about 30 or 40%.  I guess it was just time to give up the ghost.  Not sure what happened there. 

Anyway, I think I am going to avoid the Klipsch 2.1 speakers as I am sure they are prone to the same problems I've had with the 4.1s.  What I am thinking is either the Swans M50W or the Audioengine 5+ with the Audioengine S8 sub.

Thoughts?  Anyone have any experience with either or both of these speakers?  Thanks in advance.

I have both both Audioengine 5's, and 2's, and am super happy with them.  The 5's suffice without the need for a subwoofer (though add it if you like, it will be an enhancement).  I have the 2's set up with a sub (although not the Audioengine one, I happened to have an Earthquake Supernova MkIV available), and it is a genuinely great sounding stereo system.  And feeding my computer USB output through an external DAC/headphone amp helps too.

The Swans look good but I aint heard em.

The Audioengine set up is hard to beat.

You get a home audition and can return them within 30 days for a purchase price refund if you don't want them.
