I am looking for the 60 second explantion of speaker polyphony or direction to a reference on the matter. If a single note is played it is reproduced at single frequency through a single speaker. How can a single speaker reproduce several frequencies simultaneously? In advance, thank you for your input.
I may be incorrect, but, it seems to me that at any given point in time, any note or combination of notes (taking into account the sum of those notes and any cancellations created by the interaction of said notes) is really just a new note in time. As long as the speaker can handle the width of the spectrum being played, it should be able to reproduce the note(s).
