The speaker cable is glowing white hot!
Occupying the entire second floor of 242 West 27th Street, Sound By Singer offers three listening rooms with gear from respected brands such as Clearaudio, Harbeth, LFD, Luxman, Musical Fidelity, VPI, Zanden, and more.
In the image above, we see Bluebird Music’s Jay Rein, in Singer’s largest listening room, providing a demonstration of a cost-no-object system incorporating Peak Consult loudspeakers.
Business hours are by appointment only, Wednesday through Saturday. For more info on the new Sound By Singer location, visit the website or call (212) 924-8600.

By Appointment Only Wednesday through Saturday; my doctor is easier to see and he doesn't sell stereos. Suggested slogan - New Location, Same Elitist Attitude.
Great to see Sound by Singer back in full swing.
Sure, but it probably costs the same to rent the space whether they are open for scheduled hours or 'by appointment' so why not be open.
I used to love walking in the store on my way to Academy Records, I would tell them I just want to look. Sometimes they would say ok other times would tell me that someone would have to accompany me. Which was fine. Shame they left that location, I always felt that prospective customers should be allowed to look and get "hooked" on the gear at their own pace. Now the lack of street level traffic and accesability will probably mean fewer visits, at least from me.
Hi Stephen,
would really like your opinion on these speakers www.etsy.com/listing/75223750/ikyaudio-red-lobester-audio-speakers, let me know if you are interested in reviewing them.
thanks

If you can call an hour before you want to see/hear gear, then I'm ok with the appointment thing. But if they expect you to call days before, then forget it. A business should be at the convenience of the customer, not the other way around.
The fact that this business can operate by appointment only tells you upfront that everything they sell is mega-expensive.
I think it's pathetic that they have a dearth of sound treatments in that room. That glass wall is an acoustic disaster and they have nothing in place to control the first reflection point. So it sure looks to me like the room is not up to the par of the gear being offered.
