Record Store Day in Manhattan

On Saturday, April 16, beginning at 9:30am, NYC audio retailer In Living Stereo (2 Great Jones Street, New York, NY 10012) is celebrating Record Store Day with a day of in-store performances, shopping for limited-edition RSD releases, and special giveaways. At 11am DJs will start spinning records while The Sweet Things perform live at 1pm.

The list of RSD releases can be found here; In Living Stereo has ordered most RSD titles, so there will be something for every collector, but they warn that as quantities are limited, it's first come, first served, and they are limiting sales to one copy of each title per customer, to give as many customers as possible the opportunity to walk away with a collectible. In Living Stereo also says that they will be serving free PBR all day long—surely they don't mean Pabst Blue Ribbon!

It would be nice, if somehow they could restrict the sales to these scumbag profiteers to the next day. If your objective to score the good stuff, then turn around and post it at a three or four times mark up, you are flat out a jerk, period! That just makes the labels increase their prices and leaves us normal record buying (and listening) folks in the dust. Sorry, jumping off of the soap box now. Good luck, everyone.
