Can anyone recommend a good drum solo for evaluating equipment .
I have piano , horn and female vocal music that I compiled on a CDR to take with me when checking out new gear for purchase or friends systems , but I thought maybe a well recorded drum solo might add perspective .

If you can find it - Mickey Hart - Planet Drum - my percussion reference disc. Seems to me I recall that Jim Smith uses Hart's 'Supralingua' as well.
Track 7 for low bass, almost any track for the entire range of percussion. Bass so low you can only feel it, HF so high only the neighbourhood dogs can hear it.
desperaudio ... I do have Planet Drum , good one . Nice to see someone posting from the Edmonton area , I'm in SpruceGrove , Your always welcome , if your ever out this way .
Thanks Erick I will find Rat Salad . Tim Soroski
The drum solo on the song 'High Life' from Dave Weckl's album 'Synergy'(1999) is phenominal.
A drum master that is fluent in any style of drumming. Very highly regarded Jazz session musician!
