Right on. Welcome back. What have you been listening to lately?
I need to pick up the XX album. Finally broke down and listened to it on Mike Manousselis's recommendation, and now I need everything they've ever released. As for new gear, I want to trade my white Rega P3 for a pink one and then get a tube amp like the Rogue Cronus.
Yummy toobs.
I've been going back to some great stand-bys: Much of The Beatles, The Who, Johnny Cash (career-spanning, but focusing on his latest work with Rubin), and also Andrew Bird, Howlin' Wolf...
I tried for a day or two to get into Kraftwerk...having trouble with it.
I think I'm hitting LCD Soundsystem at Terminal 5, and definitely going to Ben Folds at Town Hall (he is fantastic live, even if you only like his music so-so).
Cool. I heard bits of Cash's American V at the Montreal show, and was blown to pieces. We have a review of American VI: Ain't No Grave in our May issue; you have to listen to that one with a bottle of booze and a box of Kleenex nearby.
I've got tix to see Girls at Webster Hall this weekend. Should be an awesome show.
Yes, well, I trust you know I meant "crowd" and not "crowed" (whatever that could possible have meant).
I like crowed!
