The Musical Fidelity V-LPS is one of the best Phono preamps for under $500 IMO.

It also can be used with MM or MC cartridges.

I would advise you to get it.

I also caution you to keep the cables from the TT to the phono preamp very short; under two feet long.

Longer cables can adversely affect cartridge performance due to their capacitance.

The cable length from Phono Preamp to amplifier are not critical; they can be longer.
