Preamp under 1000

Hi Looking for recommendations on stereo preamps (tube or solid state) that cost less than $1000. Remote control would be highly desirable.
Many thanks

doge 8

If you can find a Doge 8 used for about $1000, you will truely have a preamp that runs with the big dogs once you change the line state tubes to ge and the phono stage to amprex or mullard reissue.

Cont'd

Hi

Jackfish, thanks for the list.  I guess you recommend the Emotiva?  Any experience with the other components? I'm curious.

Tom Collins, I'm going to investigate the Doge 8.

Many thanks to both of you.  Any further thoughts, please post!
