I'm a "Tivoli Model One" man for my office. I know where you're coming from.
Yeah- that's good stuff too. Am I wrong or did someone from Cambridge Sound Works go off and start up Tivoli? They are both geographically close to each other and seem to share some design philosophy.
Of course, I drive by the Bose building (actually shaped like their POS Wave radio- NOT kidding!) every so often too, so maybe it's just a Boston thing- these various audio companies all near by each other like Silicon Valley.
Yeah, I think the company originates from the same genre of people, Tom DeVesto and Henry Kloss. Not to hijack your thread but there is a lot of big words in this article about these sort of people.

Yep, the Tivoli Model One IS the best $100 I've ever spent on audio BY FAR! It does what it CAN do well, and doesn't try to pull off any miracles. The AM tuner is of particular not for baseball fans which was one of the major reasons that I purchased it for my old office.
Nice. I don't need to tell you that these sorts of things don't get much attention.
In my experience, these docking station setups are almost always skewed toward the low end, to give the impression of a "big" sound. I seem to remember hearing one that was just crappy and tinny (JVC or something), so I guess you could say it was skewed bright.
At the office, I have some headphones, a cheap headphone amp, and some Klipsch computer speakers. When I use the speakers, I rarely turn up the volume loud enough for their bottom-bias to really bother me. For louder listening I use the 'phones. (The phones are Senn HD595, which don't compare to my K701s, but they're perfectly acceptable for my purposes at the office).
Anyway, I'm just saying that a lot of us need these types of applications sometimes, and it is good to get the "good for what it is" reviews. Thanks.
Good report. I've got a Monitor Audio iDeck in the shop, a JBL On Time in the bedroom and an excellent Kensington FM adaptor in the company vehicle and I think they do a great job for what they are. Plus I have an adaptor for the Tivoli in the kitchen. Can't always fire up the big rig.
