No where that I'm aware of. Why not buy the CD's then you even have a physical back up as well as all of the artwork. It would be nice if iTunes offered the option but they do not. Which seems rather silly considering how cheap big hard drives are and how quick internet speeds have become.

I stand corrected. However, they still are ONLY CD resolution (in spite of being referred to as HD) and are MUCH more expensive than going out and buying the CD. But it is a step in the right direction.

"HD" is not a term that necessarily means uber high word length and sampling rates.. it can mean anything from "full resolution" (lossless) audio to 24/192 and up..

so there is nothing misleading about the terminology.

The company doesn't try to mislead customers that HD means higher than CD resolution. But what concerns me is that some people might ASSUME that it was above CD resolution, because of the HD.

Re: Pink Floyd Downloads

Hi

HD should really be left as a video term, what does HD mean in music terms ? just having a higher bit rate is not necessarily going to lead to better sound quality. In the TV world its a simple thing, 1080 is better than 480, no reasonable person can argue otherwise. In the audio world SACD might be better than CD but who is convinced that DVD-A is better than CD ? or that Bluray is better than DVD-A or that FLAC is better than SACD ? or that any of these are better than analogue.

No the HD term has no place in music, it should be replaced with bit resolution was is just a statement of fact. Definintion of music is not linked to bit resolution.

Could you clarify this please?

Yes it is. 24 bit 96 kHz audio sounds better (to me) than 16 bit 44.1 kHz.

They have a "Super HD" section, too. The rest are just "HD."

I can't find anywhere on their site where they state what their files actually are. This is a sure sign of a ripoff and they know it. I refuse to do business with them.

I don't think that's the case. If memory serves, Stereophile has reported the company hit a rough patch and is reorganizing, but was/is legit.

s.

edit - Here is one of a handful of stories I could find on the company's bankruptcy.

I know this is a bit stale, but here is there FAQ. It says HD = CD quality, Super HD = SACD/DVD and is encoded at 24bit 88Khz or higher.
