There's a related youtube on Musical Affairs speakers, made with PHY drivers.

Why Oceillias over Auditorium 23 or Musical Affairs? Just curious.
I like the Ocelias because they were designed around SET( I will use no other sort of amp in my main system) amps . they are extremely high-efficiency, no crossovers, etc..
Seems like the same parameters apply to A23 & Musical Affairs, too, no? I know that K. Aschenbrenner of A23 was an early champion of Shindo over there in Europe, and as one of the gang from the L'Audiophile days, one of the true trailblazers in bringing SET to the fore when it was the solid state or else kind of atmosphere in hi-fi world.
It seems that both A23 & Musical Affairs users are SET devotees, and I haven't looked it up but I don't think A23 or Musical Affairs use crossovers either? No need to use crossover on PHY drivers, as they're truly full range, right? Michael Lavorgna owns the A23 Solovox, so maybe if he sees this thread, he'll chime in... I think all three make stunning loudspeakers; I'm pretty partial to the Musical Affairs, speaking purely aesthetically, but because of the wood that Hans Kortenbach uses, I hear you have to be OCD about the humidity level in the listening room at all times. Dry winter months + no humidifier = cracked cabinet.
