I can be cheap too, you know. I paid $175 for my LP12.

Then Audiogon and eBay came along. That damn internet ruined the used audio business, when it came to finding those great deals. I still get deals, but not like before.

Not quite! But I did luck into a deal. The deal was where I had to either fix a valhalla power supply in a way that would make it potentially dangerous for the owner, or get him a new turntable, as he was unwilling to buy a new valhalla power supply. He just wanted a table. So i contacted an old friend in the business, and bought a new inthe box Revolver table, and then obtained an extra new belt for the man. I put a brand new nagoka 11MP gold I had lying about on the Revolver table and traded him that for his old LP12. Now he had a working new table for no money and I had an LP12 with a blown Valhalla power supply.

I fixed the Valhalla supply but I never leave it plugged in. The Valhalla is designed to be 'on' 24/7,and this leads to it's eventual heat based death.

The man had three young children in his house and as a technician, I would not allow a 'repaired' Valhalla in his house on my repair/responsibility-ticket/liability.

So that Revolver table cost me $175 as a 'new old stock' item, and that was basically what I paid for a near mint, but not perfect LP12. Now, I can buy a 'Hercules' or 'Lingo' for it these days. I'd buy the Origin LP12 oriented table 33/45 ps, but..as a tech dude who likes to be able to fix what I buy 10 years or whatever down the road, I am categorically against anyone or any company that obscures it's chip origins or component origins in it's gear so that they are left with being the only avenue for repair. The sad story of Melos should show how that works out. Melos went away and left many Melos owners in a lurch.

To be fair, I've no idea How Origin handles this, or how they will handle this in the future, or how, -if such- is currently being done. I have nothing against them in those regards as I wanted (and still want to) to buy their product, but the obscuration of the identifiers on the given components in the specific piece of gear caused me to say no to the purchase of the given PS for my LP12.

As for Teo selling the most expensive, no. 'cheap' HDMI cables, or RCA female to female jumpers, or 5-20 cent candy at the corner store is the most expensive, the big rip off -by far. Their costs are incredibly low and profits are obscenely high. Except for the fact that they sell the items individually and delivery and packaging making up costs that far exceed that of the item itself. So, in the end, their products are not really a rip off, packaging and delivery costs push their prices up that high. Nothing they can do about that.

As for our product, we have to purify our metals and make our own alloys, ourselves...before we can even start. I think you have no idea what you are talking about, on that front.
