Next step up...

Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I apologize if this post is in the wrong place.

In the next year or so, I'd like to start upgrading my current system. Right now, I'm considering McIntosh, NAD Masters series, and the Cambridge Audio 840 series. I'd like to keep the cost of each component under $2k (hopefully more like $1.5k). The idea is to buy a component (maybe two) a year.

I've heard the NAD system and love it, and I've always loved the way McIntosh stuff sounds (and looks). The reviews on the CA 840s are amazing. Any advice on these products, or anything else I should check out?

Current System:
NAD 352 int. amp
Marants cd-63cd
Adcom GFT 555 tuner
Marantz dr-700 cd recorder
Thorens turntable
Castle Kendal speakers
B&W asw500 sub.

I also have other systems in my offices (mostly older NAD, CA and Rotel components). The only reason I mention this is for brand familiarity.
My first purchase is going to be the B&W 683(?) tower speakers at Christmas.
I have time to think about the rest. Any advice?

Thanks in advance for your help.
