Hello all. I'm on a very tight budget and this is the system I've been able to put together. Amplification is a PS Audio PSElite integrated amp. ADCOM GCD-575. Rotel RT-850A tuner. Speakers are AudioPro Avantek Six. Speaker cable is Vecteur and interconnects are Radio Shack Gold series. I'll soon be adding a Carver (forgot the model) power amp and using the PS as my pre-amp. I use Grado 60's and 125's for quiet times. Second system (in my tiny apartment) is a Denon PMA-750 integrated, Sony CDP-CE535 5 DISC changer and Paradigm Atom V3's. I'm looking into AC power conditioners as my next (after the Carver) addition. Would appreciate any thoughts and comments. Thanks in advance and looking forward to future participation here.
I think you have made a great start, and for a budget system, you should be getting some V nice sound from your set-up.
Congratulations, it looks like your hooked, welcome to the infirmary of incurable terminal audio-upgraditis!
Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned that I was able to put all that together for well under $1000. The used Carver amp will be the biggest single purchase of the bunch.
Welcome!
I think you have a great system set up!
In the realm of shopping, depending on your listening habits, it may be useful to consider a sub-woofer. That may give you more system enhancement than a power conditioner, at this point. A good sub can even improve the sound of the frequencies above its range by allowing your main speakers to perform without "worrying" about the extreme low end of their range. You may gain in terms of dynamics; and a good sub gives alot of the subtle room ambience that is associated with good imaging or the creation of a sense of space.
Whatever you decide is next, I hope we get to see your system grow in a way you find pleasing!
