Hi Mick, If your speaker cables are long enough,try moving them out even more- - so the speakers are roughly the same distance apart as your listening chair is from your amp, maybe 6-8' to start with. You will then get a much better sense of spaces between the different instruments and the stereo pan across the room in front of you.Also I noted that your window is off centre in the room, the sound will improve dramatically if you use a tape measure to ensure that you sitting bang in the middle of the two speakers, and that the speakers are the same distance from each wall or corner-even if that means you have your t-table,amp etc right up on end of the window-if you look at the pic. of my room -I have one spk. in front of the door -pain in the ass-but it sounds much better than having the system along the adjacent wall and listening across the narrow side of the room.
