Thanks for the posting. I do enjoy much of what I've read from both gentlemen. Their bona fides should be above reproach. I suspect their considerable experience in this industry has led them to think out how to produce a viable, on-going product when they accept no advertising dollars. However, this retrograde concept won't relieve the magazine of complaints regarding bias of any sort. It seems that as long as a writer accepts so much as a free beer or an extra piece of literature late at night from a manufacturer at a public hifi show, there will be more than enough people claiming the whole editorial and review staff of the entire publishing industry are in the pocket of the manufacturing industry's elite. If you accept that you will never be free of the brick throwers out there, I don't see why the success of your magazine needs to rest on such shaky grounds. The magazine is pricey for just six issues per year, and history tells us the publishing schedule may go by the wayside when advertising dollars aren't driving a production schedule.

As a fan of the ESL-63 and as a LS3/5a user, I have a bit of interest in the current issue. However, I don't know that I care to fork out the considerable amount of cash required for a subscription to read about products I already know quite well. The small number of reviews listed leads me to hope the articles are vast enough in knowledge to compete with J. Peter Moncrieff's International Audio Review. If so, they might have a successful venture on their hands. Let's all hope as much since knowledge is a valuable and yet infrequent contributor to this hobby.

$141 for 6 issues! Do you know how many LPs and CDs that can buy?

They have now added a forum on their website, where you can talk to Martin Colloms, Paul Messenger and other contributors.
