new bee..epos epic 2 question

Hi All,

I am Kushanava from India (city.Kolkata).I am trying to set up a stereo system under limited budget (under 1200$ )

After auditioning a number of speakers like Elac/PSB/wharfedale/Usher/Kef/Epos/Quad/Dali/ etc I have realised that I like the sound signature of Epos. But the limitation of amps in Kolkata is a real problem , and I have decided to import used amp through ebay.

I loved the detailed Imaging and Soundstage of the Sugden+Epos M12i combination but they were a little harsh at the top end.

I hope that Epos Epic 2 will be a much better speaker than M12i and will be able to tame the "harsh" frequencies.

I would have dearly loved to get the sugden ,but they are out of my budget ..Can you please help me find a suitable used amp(pre+power or integrated) for these speakers under 350$ that is very close to the sugden sound.

what do you think about the Quad 306 + Qud 34 + Epos epic 2 combination ? Open to any suggestions other than this....

Welcome to the forum!

It looks like you might be limited to used units from NAD, Cambridge Audio, Music Hall, Rotel, Marantz, Creek, etc. Any used Musical Fidelity integrated amp might be a really good fit for the Epos Epic 2.

Is Quad 306 a bad choice for Epos epic 2

Did anyone try epos epic 2+Quad amp combination?
