But when I tried to view galleries having noticed a new one added I got a screen showing "You do not have permission".
I feel so left out!

Maybe you weren't logged in? or you logget out somehow? thats usually what happens when i get that error message.

I logged out and logged back in. From the "General" links I could but not from the users systems.
