I suggest either the Sennheiser HD280, which are around $100 from Amazon, or the Sennheiser RS120, which are wireless headphones that cost about the same.

I think you will need to spend at least $200 to get decent headphones and an amplifier.

One of the least expensive headphone amps is the Pangea HP101, which is $99 at Audio Advisor. It has both analog and USB inputs.
