servicable in an entry level system. You would likely spend more to get what I think would be better. For slightly more can you get the Music Hall A15.2 in Australia?
If at all possible, spend the 33% extra to get the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable instead of the Essential. You won't regret it.
The Dali Concept 6 should serve you well, but did you listen to them?
I would strongly suggest the Music Hall A15.2 if it is available there. It is a bargain, and has a lot of power and a built-in phono stage. I think it is the best amplifier for under $1000 US, and only costs $499. Another good one is the NAD C326BEE.
The Music Hall MMF-2.2 is the turntable I would recommend. See audiomarketing.com.au. Either that or a REGA. RP-1.
For speakers, the Monitor Audio BX-2 or BX-5 are very good speakers in your price range. KEF and Wharfedale also have some good ones.
Carlton Audio-Visual in Australia seems to have a good selection, including the NAD C326BEE ($599 aus) and the REGA RP-1 ($550 aus) and Monitor Audio BX-2 speakers ($550/pair aus). That would make a very good system. The Dali speakers are nicely priced also, but probably not quite as good-sounding as the Monitor Audio speakers.
