I recently bought a Musical Fidelity M6i amplifier and the transformer makes an auditable hum which is (although barely) audible from the listening position. I was told that a little transformer hum high is not uncommon for high power amps. Is this true? Ofcourse the hum is not audible when music is playing but I find it annoying from time to time.

audible hum. Although I haven't stuck my ear right up to them. I'd say there might be a problem if its that loud.
