The a15.2's built-in phono pre-amp is extremely quiet on my amp. I get the same volume from the phono input at 50% as I get from the standard pre-amp inputs at around 10%, which is pretty quiet. Furthermore, the volume maxes out around 65%, with no perceivable increase in volume from 70%-100%.

Has anyone else had this experience, or is there something wrong with my phono stage?

Thanks for any advice or input.

I assume that operation is normal when using a CD player or other source on the other amplifier inputs.

It would seem that your phono stage is Kaput.

My advice would be to buy a separate phono preamp, which can improve your sound quality compared to the one built-in to the amplifier.

I suggest the NAD PP2e, which is $169 from Audio Advisor.
