I got some other overpriced re issues, $30 a pop, sound like crap. You would think selling such pricey re isssues care would be taken, in making sure teh sleeves and outer wrap is superb, obvioulsy the mfg doesn't consider expensive LP's worthy orf care? Hardly QC up to par on such highly marketed as some superiror product, it's obviously just another record, but ya sure do pay a lot for such stuff. How come CD's don't have them problems? LP's are a limited production product, you would think they would be done right....I'd ask for new outer stuff if they want to live up to the hype. Hey they guy has a PLUM card, surely the owner can do it right, he's on tv....the ad is incorrect too, it's not a NEW record lable, it's a resurected OLD label....

Hi, Judicata.

Glad you like the sound. Mo Fi has a special place in my heart.

Sorry about DUP. Maybe post this again in Analog Forum if you like. DUP isn't allowed to pee in there.

I haven't had any scuffs.

Sounds like some mightly violent shipping!

Sorry about your sleeve issues. I have had that happen only infrequently. It is easy to pick up a pack of 50 new sleeves. I have gone over many of my old records and replaced many of the sleeves that have discolored and just gotten old. I have done paper and the rice type sleeves and had no problem with either type. There are some good prices to had by dealers who advertise off MF's Music Angle web site.

I have found some "swirls" on new lps that are not scratched, but may have some mold release (or ?) sitting on the surface. I have not been able to get some of it off...no matter what it is or what I do. They are definately not scratched. Buddha may know.

I hope you start having better luck. I would write MoFi a note and give them a heads up. They probably want to know. They are a quality company with a solid reputation to uphold. At these prices you would not be out of line, and possibly helpful to them.

Thanks for the helpful replies. I harbor no ill-will toward mofi, it is just a strange thing. Maybe I'll write them a short polite note about it.

Mighty violent shipping? Yeah, cus' it's an LP the shipping company or U.S. mail cares? Properly packaged items ALWAYS get delivered unscathed....most likely, it was bad when it went into the box. If teh seller/shipper knows his business, which is, selling and shipping LP's? They would know how to pack it, especially when you are paying the premium, for these things. Demand a replacement cover, you paid top dollar for inferior service. It's bad enough when teh damn things are WARPED, which the seller would have no way of knowing since the things are sealed, but if teh seller gets enough complaints they can take it back to teh mfg., who is shipping THEM junk. Just cus' you paid $30 or more for a $3 LP, doesn't mean it ain't junk, in a colorful ad. With the price of oil going up up up, watch how these VINYL LP go up up up, and become a joke for anyone to waste money on buying. CD will get a resurgence, CD's will be the next big thing....OH, that already happened, well it'll happen again? CD will be making a come back? PolyCarbonate uses less oil than LP vinyl? Well they sure do ship easier and hold up, and ain't WARPED . LP's STILL as obsolete as they became 25 years ago, and still holding that title

Red Trumpet used to (upon request) toss the shrink wrap, REMOVE records and sleeves from the covers, and wrap all items carefully before shipping. Don't know if Music Direct or others offer this service. It works.

Music Direct took over the remains of Red Trumpet....why did Red Trumpet go under suddenly, after they moved to York P.A.?
