Thank you for your listening impressions.

I am sure that Foobar2000 does not filter out lower frequency sound than 50Hz.

I have used several media players such as Windows Media Player (WMP), WinDVD, Foobar2000, VLC and KMP. Being "digital" media players, I would expect them to have the same or very similar audio quality. However this is not the case. I experience vastly different sound quality between them. WMP and WinDVD provide the best quality. Foobar2000 seems to be inferior in low frequency sound. Foobar2000 "spectrum" shows from "50hz". It may filter out lower frequency sound than 50Hz. VLC's sound quality is in between WMP and Foobar2000. But VLC is a malware which deletes WMP from OS menus. KMP has very dirty hissing noise on 24-bit tracks.

Sound quality differences can be keenly noticed if you play higher definition tracks.

VLC is NOT malware.

My understand of media players is that WMP, iTunes and WinDVD are all terrible whereas Foobar2000 and VLC are two of the very best players available and they are completely FREE!
